Baltimore is a fantastic new focus for my writing! I’m honored and blessed to have the opportunity to write for Baltimore Style–and I was surprised and humbled that my first two stories of 2021 became cover stories.
Both stories profile extraordinary people doing extraordinary work in “Charm City.”

First, meet Holly and John Hoey in “Building a Better Baltimore.” The fact that philanthropist MacKenzie Scott gifted $4 billion to nearly 400 organizations, including six in the Baltimore region, is incredible enough. But the fact that the short list included the two Baltimore-area nonprofits they help lead? It still leaves them stunned.
Then, meet Father Leo Patalinghug, who’s driving “A Vehicle for Good.” For his milestone 50th birthday, while others might dream of owning a shiny new convertible, he focused on a much different vehicle–a food truck.
Baltimore Style–with a readership of 112,000–“covers the must-know people and provocative issues in Maryland” and features “spirited, fun-to-read writing and beautiful photography.” I’m looking forward to future assignments!
